Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently according to strict postal guidelines.
- Load and unload mail and parcels from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Deliver mail to residential and business addresses while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Sort mail by route, carrier, or priority on a piece-by-piece basis to ensure accuracy.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws while operating postal vehicles.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding delivery status and address corrections.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery logs and stop work reports.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Valid Driver's License (commercial preferred but not always required for entry-level).
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to read maps and street directories.
