Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Monitor vital signs and document observations in Electronic Health Records
- Assist with medical procedures under RN supervision
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Support emotional well-being through patient companionship
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Participate in weekend shift handovers and safety drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Nursing Assistant/CNA certification
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience
- BLS/CPR certification (maintained current)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
- Weekend/holiday availability mandatory
- Pass federal background investigation and drug screening
- VA-specific training within 30 days of hire
