Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols across VA medical systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Monitor network traffic for security threats and anomalies
- Develop incident response plans and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, and HIPAA regulations
- Train staff on security best practices and protocols
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams on secure system design
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in federal or healthcare sector
- Security+ CE or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight)
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and DoD security frameworks
- Active Secret security clearance
- Experience with VA-specific systems (VistA, EHR) preferred
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
