Responsibilities
- Process and verify veterans' benefit claims with 99% accuracy
- Coordinate healthcare enrollment and VA services for eligible veterans
- Conduct eligibility screenings for federal and state veteran programs
- Maintain confidential case records in VA's secure database systems
- Provide compassionate support to veterans and their families
- Collaborate with medical and legal teams for complex cases
- Train veterans on available benefits and digital application portals
- Report compliance metrics to regional VA headquarters
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required (mandatory for federal positions)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in social services or benefits administration
- Proficiency with VA VISTA and EBenefits systems
- Valid California driver's license (for occasional travel)
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Strong knowledge of veterans' benefits (GI Bill, VHA, etc.)
- Exceptional communication skills in English/Spanish bilingual preferred
- Experience working with diverse veteran populations
