Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate 15+ VA compensation/pension claims weekly with 95% accuracy
- Interpret complex federal regulations (38 CFR) to determine eligibility
- Conduct virtual interviews with veterans and dependents for evidence gathering
- Collaborate with medical examiners and legal teams to resolve intricate cases
- Maintain detailed case documentation in VA's VBMS system
- Train junior staff on claims processing protocols
- Report emerging policy trends to regional leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 3+ years VA claims processing experience
- Expert knowledge of 38 CFR compensation/pension regulations
- Proficient in VBMS and eBenefits systems
- VA Form 21-4142 (Authorization and Consent) processing expertise
- Clearance for accessing Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Ability to manage 50+ active cases simultaneously
- VA-accredited claims agent certification preferred
