Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling, registration, and eligibility verification within VHA systems
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) documentation with 100% accuracy
- Facilitate communication between clinical staff, patients, and external providers
- Process medical billing and coding in compliance with VA and CMS guidelines
- Assist in quality assurance initiatives and performance improvement projects
- Train staff on new healthcare protocols and system updates
- Ensure HIPAA and federal privacy regulations are strictly maintained
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 2 years healthcare administrative experience
- Proficiency in VISTA/CPRS electronic health records system
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of veterans' healthcare programs
- Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- U.S. citizenship and federal background clearance required
