Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA privacy regulations
- Oversee health data quality assurance processes and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure accurate health information documentation
- Lead system upgrades and process improvements for health information workflows
- Train staff on health information management policies and technology systems
- Conduct audits to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve system issues and implement new features
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of health information management experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Health Information Administrator (CHIA) or RHIT/RHIA credentials required
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred) and health data analytics tools
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and VA health information regulations
- Experience with health data privacy and security protocols
- Demonstrated ability to train staff and implement process improvements
- U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain VA security clearance
