Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee data integrity, security protocols, and access controls for sensitive veteran health information
- Lead health information technology implementations and system upgrades
- Develop and execute training programs for clinical staff on health information systems
- Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with federal health data standards
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Stay current with evolving health information management technologies and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (RHIA credential preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in health information management systems
- Expertise in EHR platforms (VistA/Epic) and health data analytics
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and federal health information regulations
- Proficiency in database management and health data security protocols
- Demonstrated ability to implement health information technology projects
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to regulatory compliance
