Responsibilities
- Manage and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee data integrity for 50,000+ veteran records using Epic EMR platform
- Coordinate with clinical teams to optimize data capture workflows
- Implement and audit data privacy protocols for sensitive veteran health information
- Lead system upgrades and process improvements for health information systems
- Train staff on data management best practices and regulatory requirements
- Generate compliance reports for federal audits and quality assurance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Valid RHIA or RHIT credential from AHIMA
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and federal health data regulations
- Proficiency in SQL and data analytics tools
- DOD Secret Security clearance or ability to obtain
- Experience with VA-specific healthcare data standards
