Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee data integrity and accuracy of veteran patient information
- Implement health information security protocols and access controls
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with federal health information standards
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize health data workflows
- Support VA healthcare system upgrades and technology initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years of health information management experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Experience with data privacy and security protocols
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
