Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems (EHR) in compliance with VA and federal regulations
- Lead system implementations, upgrades, and optimization of health IT infrastructure
- Develop and execute data governance policies ensuring HIPAA compliance and data security
- Train staff on health information systems and provide ongoing technical support
- Analyze clinical workflows and recommend IT solutions to enhance patient care delivery
- Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to resolve system integration challenges
- Monitor system performance and implement quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic, or VA-specific platforms)
- VA Health Information Management (HIM) certification required
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy regulations
- Proficiency in SQL and database management techniques
- Demonstrated project management experience with IT implementations
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex technical requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
