Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems (EHR) for veteran patient data
- Implement health information security protocols and HIPAA compliance measures
- Analyze healthcare data to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Train clinical staff on health information technology systems
- Coordinate system upgrades and troubleshoot technical issues
- Develop data governance policies for sensitive veteran health information
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams on system integration projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years EHR system management experience
- Federal background investigation clearance eligibility
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy laws
- Proficiency in VA-specific health IT systems (e.g., VistA)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- U.S. citizenship required
