Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems (EHR) for veteran patient data
- Ensure HIPAA compliance through rigorous data security protocols
- Coordinate with medical staff for accurate documentation and coding
- Implement health information policies and quality improvement initiatives
- Train personnel on health information systems and privacy regulations
- Conduct audits to verify data integrity and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with IT teams for system upgrades and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' EHR system management experience
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
- Proficiency in ICD-10/CPT coding standards
- Federal background clearance eligibility
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive veteran data with discretion
- Experience with VA VistA or DoD MHS systems preferred
