Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record systems in compliance with VA and HIPAA standards
- Oversee health information coding, indexing, and retrieval processes
- Implement and audit data integrity protocols for clinical documentation
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure accurate health information capture
- Train medical staff on electronic health record systems and best practices
- Conduct regular system audits and compliance reviews
- Lead health information privacy and security initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT credential from AHIMA required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in health information management
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
- Federal security clearance eligibility
- Experience with health data analytics and reporting
