Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with VA regulations
- Oversee health data integrity, security, and accessibility for 500+ daily patient encounters
- Coordinate with clinical teams to implement health information technology solutions
- Conduct data quality audits and implement corrective actions for regulatory compliance
- Train staff on health information management best practices and system updates
- Lead projects to enhance interoperability between VA and community healthcare systems
- Ensure HIPAA and VA privacy standards are rigorously maintained across all operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience with EHR systems (Epic Cerner preferred)
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA, HIPAA Security Rule, and VA data governance policies
- Proven experience with health data analytics and reporting tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives
- U.S. citizenship required
