Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation of EHR systems in 5+ VA medical centers across Northern California
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives for protected health information (PHI) systems
- Coordinate with 15+ IT teams to optimize telehealth platforms for remote veteran care
- Develop disaster recovery protocols for critical healthcare data infrastructure
- Train clinical staff on new health information management technologies
- Comply with FISMA, HIPAA, and VA-specific IT governance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Healthcare IT (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years implementing EHR systems (Epic/Cerner experience preferred)
- VA IT Fundamentals (ITF) certification required
- Active Secret security clearance
- Experience with HL7/FHIR healthcare data exchange standards
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Knowledge of VA-specific IT systems like VistA and CPRS
