Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Veterans Health Information System Technology Architecture (VistA) infrastructure
- Implement cybersecurity protocols for protected health information (PHI) systems
- Coordinate with clinical teams to optimize EHR workflows and user adoption
- Lead system upgrades and integration of new healthcare IT solutions
- Provide Tier-3 technical support for complex health information systems
- Develop disaster recovery plans for critical health data systems
- Train staff on new healthcare technologies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or VistA preferred)
- VA-specific certification in Health Information Technology
- Active DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy laws
- Experience with HL7/FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability
- Demonstrated project management in healthcare IT environments
