Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems within the VA's VistE framework
- Implement cybersecurity protocols to protect veteran healthcare data
- Coordinate IT system upgrades and maintenance across clinical departments
- Train staff on new healthcare technologies and compliance requirements
- Troubleshoot complex IT issues affecting veteran care delivery
- Collaborate with federal stakeholders on health IT initiatives
- Ensure HIPAA and federal IT security compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Health Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of healthcare IT experience with EHR systems
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Proficiency in VA-specific VistE system implementation
- Certification in healthcare IT (e.g., CPHIT, CHPS)
- Demonstrated experience with federal IT compliance standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
