Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain VA VistA and EHR systems with strict HIPAA compliance
- Lead FHIR-based API integrations for veteran health data exchange
- Coordinate with clinical teams to optimize health IT workflows
- Conduct system security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Manage vendor relationships for health IT solutions procurement
- Develop training materials for clinical staff on new IT systems
- Report directly to IT leadership on system performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health IT, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with VA VistA or federal EHR systems
- FHIR and HL7 standards certification (or equivalent experience)
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Project management experience in healthcare IT implementations
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and 21st Century Cures Act compliance
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies in federal projects
