Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' compensation, pension, and healthcare benefits claims
- Conduct comprehensive interviews with veterans to gather supporting documentation
- Provide expert guidance on VA benefits programs and eligibility requirements
- Collaborate with medical professionals to resolve complex healthcare claims
- Maintain accurate case records in VA's electronic processing systems
- Represent VA at community outreach events to educate veterans on available benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and VA policies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum of 1 year specialized experience in claims processing or customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex policies
- Experience working with military/veteran populations preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and empathy
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
