Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims with 98% accuracy
- Provide in-person and virtual counseling on VA benefits and services
- Conduct thorough interviews with claimants to gather supporting documentation
- Collaborate with medical professionals and legal teams on complex cases
- Maintain detailed case records in VA systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Represent VA at community outreach events and veteran service organizations
- Train junior staff on claims processing procedures and regulations
Qualifications
- US citizenship required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in veterans' services or federal claims processing
- Proficiency in VA systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of 38 CFR Title 38 regulations and veterans' benefits
- Experience working with diverse veteran populations
