Responsibilities
- Evaluate and process veterans' claims for disability compensation, pension, education, and vocational rehabilitation benefits
- Provide expert guidance on VA policies, regulations, and benefit entitlements
- Conduct thorough interviews and document case histories with precision
- Collaborate with medical professionals to gather supporting evidence for claims
- Represent the VA in appeals and hearings before the Board of Veterans' Appeals
- Develop and implement individualized benefit plans for eligible veterans
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and federal employment eligibility
- 1+ years of specialized experience in benefits administration, social services, or related field
- Strong analytical skills for complex case evaluation
- Excellent communication abilities for sensitive veteran interactions
- Proficiency in VA claims processing systems (VBMS, VBA)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Knowledge of military service-connected disabilities and VA regulations
