As a Weekend IT Support Specialist, you will be the first line of defense for our internal systems, ensuring that essential government services remain uninterrupted and secure. You will work directly with state employees to resolve technical issues, manage hardware, and maintain comprehensive IT documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to state employees via phone, email, and ticketing systems during weekend shifts.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of desktops, laptops, printers, and network peripherals.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and asset tagging of new hardware and software for various state agencies.
- Monitor system performance and respond to critical alerts to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
- Maintain accurate records of support tickets, incident reports, and resolution logs in the IT Service Management system.
- Adhere to strict state cybersecurity protocols, data privacy regulations, and IT compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in technical support, help desk, or IT administration.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical setup tasks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical users.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule as required.
