Responsibilities
- Manage emergency communications during weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday)
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical resources with precision and urgency
- Maintain detailed incident logs using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during crisis situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses for large-scale weekend events
- Train and mentor junior dispatch staff during coverage overlaps
- Ensure compliance with NIMS and state emergency protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years emergency dispatch or public safety experience
- Valid Arizona Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification
- Ability to work rotating weekend schedules (Fri-Sun)
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems and multi-line phone systems
- Exceptional stress management and decision-making skills
- Clear speaking voice and multilingual abilities (Spanish/Navajo) a plus
