Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and emergency dispatch for police, fire, and medical services
- Maintain precise radio communication with field units during critical incidents
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems with exceptional accuracy
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival medical instructions to callers
- Document detailed call logs and incident reports in compliance with regulations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies
- Train in specialized protocols for hazardous materials and active incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year dispatch or customer service experience
- Valid California POST Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency in CAD systems and emergency software
- Exceptional composure under high-pressure situations
- Fluency in English and Spanish (highly desirable)
