Responsibilities
- Patrol designated city areas during weekend shifts to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents involving public disturbances or safety hazards
- Collaborate with NOPD and other city agencies during special events and festivals
- Document incidents and submit detailed reports using city-mandated digital systems
- Provide visible security presence at high-traffic weekend locations like French Quarter and City Park
- Conduct welfare checks and assist citizens in distress during weekend hours
- Maintain accurate logs of all activities and coordinate with off-duty officers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years law enforcement, security, or military experience
- Certification in CPR and first aid (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work flexible weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Proficiency in digital reporting systems and mobile technology
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check and drug screening
