Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure safety and compliance
- Conduct regular security patrols and headcounts in correctional facilities
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate protocols
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of all facility operations
- Screen visitors and packages following established security procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical teams during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (POTA) certification
- Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness test
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Proficient in using security systems and communication devices
- Must be available to work rotating weekends and holidays
