Responsibilities
- Conduct weekend inspections of food establishments, schools, and healthcare facilities
- Enforce Texas sanitation codes and health regulations
- Investigate public health complaints and outbreaks
- Maintain detailed inspection reports using digital systems
- Educate business owners on compliance requirements
- Collaborate with epidemiology teams during emergency responses
- Perform environmental sampling and lab result analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Valid Texas Health Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 2 years compliance/regulatory experience
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and FDA Food Code
- Ability to work independently in weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 7am-5pm)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in inspection software and GIS mapping tools
