Responsibilities
- Perform weekend highway maintenance operations including snow removal, pothole repair, and vegetation control
- Operate heavy equipment (plows, loaders, graders) safely and efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of roadways, bridges, and traffic control systems
- Respond to emergency weather events and traffic incidents during weekend shifts
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
- Adhere to all federal/state safety regulations and MassDOT protocols
- Collaborate with weekend crew members and dispatch teams
- Support special weekend events requiring traffic control setup
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of highway construction or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and emergency weather events
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
