Your Role
As a Public Works Laborer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the upkeep of our city. You will work outdoors, often in various weather conditions, alongside a team of professionals dedicated to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labor including cleaning streets, sidewalks, and public facilities.
- Assist in traffic control and flagging duties to ensure public safety.
- Operate and maintain light construction and maintenance equipment safely.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and debris from trucks.
- Participate in storm drain cleaning, vegetation management, and graffiti removal.
- Respond to emergency public service requests and maintenance calls promptly.
- Assist senior staff with project setup and cleanup.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Valid Arizona Class C Driver's License is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
