Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) units to incident scenes.
- Monitor and operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment.
- Enter and maintain accurate, detailed incident records and logs in the dispatch database.
- Provide real-time crisis intervention and emotional support to callers in distress.
- Perform multi-tasking in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while adhering to strict protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Texas Class C Driverβs License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type accurately at a minimum of 35-40 words per minute.
- Must be willing to submit to a comprehensive background investigation, psychological evaluation, and drug screening.
