Responsibilities
- Assist in processing pension benefit applications, retirement calculations, and member inquiries with the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Perform high-volume data entry and verification of member account records using state pension management software.
- Communicate effectively with retirees, beneficiaries, and internal stakeholders to explain pension policies and eligibility requirements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for case files, ensuring full compliance with state regulations and internal protocols.
- Conduct research on current pension laws and actuarial data to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements and enhance member service delivery.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Public Administration is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of error-free data management.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with database systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer-facing interactions and professional correspondence.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident eligible for government employment.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while handling sensitive financial information.
