Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and patrol designated border areas to detect illegal crossings and suspicious activities
- Conduct interviews and inspections of travelers and cargo at international ports of entry
- Utilize specialized equipment including biometric scanners and X-ray machines for threat detection
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to share intelligence and coordinate enforcement actions
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate case documentation
- Participate in anti-smuggling operations and interdiction activities
- Provide testimony in legal proceedings related to border security violations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum of 3 years in law enforcement, military, or federal security roles
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Proficiency in Spanish (written and verbal) is required
- Successful completion of federal background investigation and polygraph examination
- Experience with surveillance technology and threat detection systems
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays in outdoor environments
- Physical fitness to perform duties including standing for extended periods and operating in extreme weather conditions
