Responsibilities
- Delivery Operations: Sort and deliver mail and packages to customers on an assigned route efficiently and accurately, adhering to strict time standards.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, resolving complaints, and accepting packages for hold.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a Parcel Drop Vehicle (PDV) or walk the assigned route as required by local conditions.
- Physical Demands: Perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy packages (up to 70 lbs), walking long distances, and standing for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- Mail Handling: Properly handle and process various types of mail, including First Class, Standard Mail, and Periodicals, ensuring confidentiality and security.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and USPS policies to ensure the safety of yourself and the public.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status with the ability to pass a drug test and background check.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- License: Valid State Driver’s License (for routes requiring vehicle operation).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination demonstrating the ability to lift, carry, and push packages.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse customer populations.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work a full-time schedule including weekends and holidays as required.
