Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Sort incoming and outgoing mail efficiently and accurately according to postal regulations.
- Deliver Packages: Safely transport and deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses throughout the designated route.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries and resolving issues at the local post office window.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate various USPS vehicles, including delivery vans and trucks, in all weather conditions.
- Physical Stamina: Lift heavy packages (up to 70 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods during your shift.
- Route Management: Efficiently manage your delivery route to ensure all mail is delivered on time.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- License: Valid driver's license required; clean driving record preferred.
- Physical Ability: Ability to pass a physical examination demonstrating the ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous tasks.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Residency: Must be a resident of the Philadelphia area or willing to relocate.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
