As a City Carrier, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of mail and packages to customers along an assigned route. Responsibilities
- Mail Delivery: Delivering mail and packages to residential and business customers along an assigned route in a timely and efficient manner.
- Customer Interaction: Interacting professionally with customers, answering questions, and resolving delivery issues courteously.
- Mail Processing: Collecting and processing outgoing mail, including Post Office Box (PO Box) service.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintaining the cleanliness and safe operation of the assigned vehicle (if applicable) or managing walking equipment.
- Route Management: Adhering to the assigned route and time standards to ensure the efficient flow of mail.
- Safety Compliance: Following all safety protocols and regulations to ensure personal safety and the safety of the public.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift packages up to 70 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and perform work in various weather conditions.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and street addresses.
