Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and legislative documents with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee public records requests and ensure timely, compliant responses
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city records
- Coordinate with City Council on agenda preparation, minute-taking, and legislative processes
- Implement digital record-keeping systems and ensure data integrity
- Lead compliance with California Public Records Act and municipal governance laws
- Manage elections and voter registration processes
- Represent the City Clerk's Office in public forums and interdepartmental initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public records management
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and election administration
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Valid California driver's license
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Experience managing budgets and staff supervision
