Responsibilities
- Serve as the official custodian of City records, ensuring secure storage, indexing, and retrieval of vital documents
- Administer oaths of office to public officials and maintain official city seals
- Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and official notices for City Council meetings
- Manage public records requests in compliance with Arizona Public Records Law
- Oversee municipal elections processes and voter registration coordination
- Maintain legislative history and code of ordinances for legal reference
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure regulatory compliance
- Train staff on records management procedures and public access protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Arizona open meeting laws and public records statutes
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex documentation
- Strong written communication skills for drafting official documents
- Experience with public meeting administration and minute-taking protocols
