Responsibilities
- Maintain and safeguard official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Administer oaths of office and manage public record requests in compliance with California Public Records Act
- Coordinate municipal elections, including candidate filings and ballot preparation
- Provide legislative support to City Council and advisory bodies through agenda preparation and documentation
- Oversee records management systems ensuring retention and accessibility standards
- Act as primary liaison between public and government entities regarding civic processes
- Manage municipal code updates and historical document preservation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or public sector experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and Brown Act compliance
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and document imaging
- Exceptional written communication skills for drafting official documents
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects with strict deadlines
