Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Coordinate all City Council agenda preparation, public hearings, and meeting logistics
- Oversee publication of legal notices and compliance with Texas Open Records/Open Meetings Act
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official municipal records system
- Process public records requests and ensure timely, transparent information dissemination
- Support municipal elections and voter registration initiatives
- Train staff on record-keeping protocols and legal compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Expert knowledge of Texas Local Government Code and public records laws
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Professional certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) preferred
