Responsibilities
- Oversee all official city records, ordinances, and council minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Manage municipal elections including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling site coordination
- Provide administrative support to the City Council and Mayor's office with document preparation and meeting logistics
- Maintain compliance with state open records laws and public information requests
- Lead records management systems for digital and physical document archives
- Serve as the official custodian of city seals and legal documents
- Coordinate public hearings and community engagement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Strong knowledge of New Mexico election laws and public records statutes
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
