Responsibilities
- Oversee official city records, archives, and public information requests in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes
- Manage municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot preparation with precision
- Prepare and certify City Council agendas, minutes, and legislative documents
- Administer oaths of office and serve as custodian of the city seal
- Implement digital record management systems ensuring accessibility and security
- Coordinate public records requests and Sunshine Law compliance
- Lead clerk department staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Arizona Municipal Clerk Institute (AMCI) certification preferred
- Expertise in Arizona election law and open records regulations
- Advanced proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public presentation skills
- Proven project management and cross-departmental collaboration abilities
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation highly desirable
