Responsibilities
- Oversee all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Coordinate and document City Council meetings, ensuring compliance with open meeting laws
- Manage voter registration, election administration, and ballot certification processes
- Serve as custodian of city seals, contracts, and legal documents
- Process business licenses, permits, and municipal licenses
- Respond to public records requests with efficiency and transparency
- Administer oaths of office and notarization services
- Implement records retention policies and digital archiving systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Proficiency in records management software and document imaging systems
- Deep understanding of Illinois election laws and municipal codes
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
