Responsibilities
- Prepare, distribute, and maintain official agendas, minutes, and resolutions for the Mayor and City Council meetings.
- Manage the City’s official records retention schedule and ensure compliance with state and federal archiving laws.
- Process and respond to public records requests in accordance with Ohio Sunshine Laws and open records regulations.
- Coordinate with department heads to facilitate information sharing and public inquiries regarding city policies.
- Oversee the administration of local elections, including voter registration and polling place logistics.
- Prepare correspondence, proclamations, and official correspondence on behalf of the legislative body.
- Ensure the proper use, storage, and security of the City Seal and official documents.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in administrative support, government, or municipal clerical work.
- Strong knowledge of Ohio Revised Code regarding open meetings and public records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with records management software is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise minutes.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various city facilities as needed.
