Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city council records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and candidate filings per Texas Election Code
- Administer oaths of office, public records requests, and document authentication
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure legislative compliance and record-keeping standards
- Serve as clerk for city council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking
- Develop and implement records retention policies compliant with state regulations
- Lead public outreach initiatives to enhance civic education and transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management focus
- Texas Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expertise in open records laws (Texas Public Information Act) and parliamentary procedure
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Spanish bilingual proficiency highly desirable
