Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and provide public access to official city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Oversee city elections, including ballot preparation, polling place coordination, and certification results
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city seal documentation
- Support City Council meetings through agenda preparation, minute-keeping, and legislative tracking
- Ensure compliance with California Public Records Act (CPRA) and open meeting laws
- Coordinate public records requests and document retention programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government records management
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of California election laws and CPRA regulations
- Advanced proficiency with records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Valid California driver's license
