Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and resolutions with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Provide administrative support to the City Council and public commissions
- Respond to public records requests within legal timeframes
- Prepare and certify official documents including contracts and permits
- Coordinate public meetings and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Train staff on record-keeping procedures and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government or public sector experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or equivalent credentials
- Proficiency in record management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Expert knowledge of California election laws and Brown Act requirements
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines
