Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official City records, including ordinances, resolutions, and minutes of City Council and Committee meetings.
- Prepare, distribute, and post official agendas and packets for all City Council and Board meetings.
- Provide accurate information to the public, media, and city departments regarding municipal codes, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of support staff and temporary employees within the Clerk's office.
- Oversee the administration of local elections and voter registration processes in compliance with Oregon election laws.
- Ensure compliance with the Oregon Public Records Law and state transparency regulations.
- Facilitate the official correspondence and legal filings for the Mayor and City Council.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a municipal government, legal office, or a comparable administrative role.
- Thorough knowledge of parliamentary procedure and Robert's Rules of Order.
- Proficiency with government information systems, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
