Responsibilities
- Prepare, distribute, and archive official meeting minutes and agendas for the City Council and Commissions.
- Manage the City's official records retention schedule and ensure compliance with state and federal archiving laws.
- Receive, process, and respond to public records requests in accordance with the Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA).
- Oversee the administration of municipal elections, including voter registration and polling site coordination.
- Assist the City Manager and Council members with special projects, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintain the City Charter and ensure all municipal ordinances are current and accessible.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's degree in Public Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in municipal government, records management, or administrative support.
- Proven experience in public speaking or interacting with diverse community groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with records management software (e.g., Accela, Archivist).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of New Mexico state laws regarding public records and municipal operations.
