Responsibilities
- Maintain and authenticate all official city council minutes, ordinances, and resolutions
- Oversee public records management, ensuring compliance with state open records laws
- Manage city elections processes including ballot preparation and voter registration coordination
- Administer oaths of office and notary services for municipal officials and staff
- Coordinate public information requests and serve as records custodian
- Support city council operations through agenda preparation and meeting logistics
- Develop and implement records retention policies in alignment with Louisiana statutes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency in records management systems and document automation software
- Deep knowledge of Louisiana open records laws and municipal procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage sensitive information with absolute discretion
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and ability to work occasional evening/weekend hours
